About six hours after\u00a0Aaron Boone got every Yankees fan buzzing by lavishing Gleyber Torres\u00a0with praise and naming him his tone-setting leadoff hitter for Tuesday night’s All-Star Game, after the exceptional job he’s done in Detroit, Aaron Judge just fanned the emotional flames at the Home Run Derby.<\/p>\n

With his choice of anyone in the league to sit next to for the family-friendly portion of the event, including teammates Max Fried, Carlos Rod\u00f3n and Jazz Chisholm Jr., Judge was caught on camera\u00a0directly next to Torres, laughing it up\u00a0throughout the event.<\/p>\n

Though the parting of the ways was\u00a0very\u00a0<\/em>much not mutual following the 2025 season, with Torres on record wanting to be a Yankee for life, it’s clear the animosity did not extend to his captain.<\/p>\n

After catching up, the two settled in comfortably to watch Torres’ replacement at second base, Jazz Chisholm Jr., take aim at the\u00a0Derby title. It, uh, only made things worse.<\/p>\n

Yankees MVP Aaron Judge reunited with Gleyber Torres at the 2025 MLB Home Run Derby to watch Jazz Chisholm Jr. struggle<\/h2>\n

The good news? On a night where Oneil Cruz struck a 513-foot mega-shot, Chisholm Jr. did crank an impressive 453-foot blast that earned him bonus time.<\/p>\n

The bad? That was only one of his three home runs in regulation, as every Yankee fan thought a little longer and a little harder about the\u00a0shoulder injury that helped facilitate his move off third base\u00a0last week.<\/p>\n

Chisholm Jr. didn’t get shut out. He did, however, get booed roundly beforehand, and also managed to approximate what it might look like if DJ LeMahieu had been granted entry into the Home Run Derby instead.<\/p>\n

Judge, Fried and Co. (not Torres) tried their best to get him back on track during a mid-Derby breather, but it was just too late.<\/p>\n

It’s a shame, too, because that flashy Derby chain would’ve looked extra appropriate around Chisholm Jr.’s shoulders.<\/p>\n
